I grew up in Badgerys Creek, south-west of Sydney, and enjoyed the rural lifestyle and being involved with the NSW rural fire service. I joined the team at Islington Dental in 2008. In 2012 I married a Canadian from Nova Scotia and briefly lived there, but was driven out by the cold weather. Upon returning to Australia I realised I really missed Newcastle’s great outdoor lifestyle.
I returned to Islington Dental in 2014 and have been a partner since 2016. I am committed to lifelong learning and attend conferences and courses to upgrade my skills and better understand the challenges my profession is facing going forward. 2007 Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene, Curtin University Western Australia.
Islington Dental welcomed me as a part of the team in 2012. My role was to implement a hygiene department, which has since thrived to a team of 5 hygienists and therapists. I feel privileged to work with such a wonderful team of dentists, hygienists & staff.
My passion in the dental field is to help people change their perception of the “usual” dental experience. I most enjoy the opportunity to work with patients’ fears & phobias, with the goal of making every patient’s visit to the dentist an enjoyable experience. I also love making a change in our patient's oral health by educating, with a gentle & caring approach.
In 2011 I moved to Newcastle from Western Australia. It didn’t take long for Newcastle to become home & now couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. I met my husband here & now have 2 young boys Sam & Sasha who certainly keep me busy & entertained.
I love to travel & have spent a lot of time in Europe, a past home. We still have a passion to travel but the children have slowed us down. I now love spending days at the beach, visiting the beautiful Hunter Valley, a nice drop of red wine & being with the children.
- I have been in the dental industry for 25 years.
- I completed my Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Curtin University Western Australia in 2007.
- I love traveling, going to the beach & bush walking. My favourite pass-time has to be eating great food with a good red wine in the company of family & friends.

I found my home at Islington Dental in 2013. I am organised, precise and caring for people as part of a highly skilled and compassionate team.
Life begun in the country with lots of animals and open spaces but the allure of Newcastle with its beautiful beaches, music and food made it the perfect place for me to settle down with my two children. I continue to be involved in the Newcastle music scene and enjoy keeping fit and healthy at the gym. One of my favourite things to do is head outdoors for a long hike with a loaded up backpack. Though I’m partial to a lazy day on the beach with a good book too.
I feel an important aspect of being an effective hygienist is to assist the dentist in educating each patient to develop preventative dental habits. This objective outlines the foundation of any treatment experience with me.

Working as a dental hygienist is a great fit for me professionally as it involves being practical and hands on, with a significant degree of attention to detail. My focus is helping patients to achieve a healthy mouth so that they feel confident. I have a thorough, gentle and caring approach to preventative oral care.
I have been a part of the Islington Dental team since early 2017. Previously I worked in South West Sydney as a Hygienist and Therapist for 2 years before moving to London for 3 years. Some of my favourite places visited are Croatia, Iceland, Spain, Slovenia, Turkey and Ireland.
